Ibis spreads its second wing at Annasalai with the signature restaurant,Spice IT is an all-day dining restaurant offering a choice of a-la-carte and buffet options. With the live cooking counters, diners have an option to customize their favorite dishes from the existing menu. Spice it serves unique dishes of North Indian, Chinese and Continental cuisine .
Location & Ambience :
Since Ibis is new to Chennai i found it pretty hard to locate the place at first place but then google maps came in rescue.located on the 5 th floor of IBIS city centre in Mount road of Annasalai ,the huge hoarding on top of the 7 story building helps you to spot the hotel. Map
The lift bangs open at the 5th lobby of the Spiceit Restaurant , with the cozy lounge bar and the lobby next to it makes the place looks small with major space occupied by the buffet area,with the bright orange and yellow colors dominating the color patterns the interiors were kept very minimal and very casual.

SOUP : Chicken & Mushroom
it is a very normal soup with shreds of chicken and mushroom slices .the chillies in the soup was a let down, could have been better.
The chicken Tikka was really nice and went well with the chutney,Tawa fried fish looked fine but something was not right about the dish which dint interest me, Lotus steam salt & pepper is my favourite of all the starters with the right amount to spice and flavours, it made to the must have .
Chef’s Special Naan Pizza’s : A-la-carte
Naan Pizza’s was my favorite of all the dishes I tasted,it’s a new twist and not the regular boring Pizza bread.the chef has come up with an idea to have Naan as a base with exciting flavours,each Flavours were distinct and absolutely lip smacking.The ingrediants are very Indianised which I liked the most about the Pizza’s.
Keema Biriyani was a good option for usual biriyani,it was different and tasted real spicy. Madras Chicken curry was the best curry on the whole meal it had right amount of spice and the chicken was delicious. Fish In newburg Sauce I was quite excited to see this dish in the buffet,newburg is a rich sauce made with cream and egg yolks like absolutely delicious one and the dish tasted really good .

Pastas : There was 3 Different pastas. Penne Alfredo white pasta ,which had big chunks of chicken pieces but it dint have the right flavours.Penne Pesto with black olives was one of the best pesto sauce pasta I had in recent days.Penne in Red sauce was an ordinary one it had too much of tanginess which I dint like .Fried Rice was yum! with perfect blend of flavours and right amount of ingredients .
DRINKS : Mocktails
Expresso Cooler is a a mix of Expresso and soda, good option for coffee freaks.
Blue Sky is another MOjito variation loved the mix of colors .
Yes,Its Virgin Mojito this instant reFresher gives the feel of diving into the ocean of mint and lemon!.
Litche and Pineapple a strong flavour of lychee and it has been incorporated well .
Ice Tea had a very strong flavour of tea,whereas I like it to be mild.
slick service ! the staffs were courteous and the food was served on time with no delay.
Boiling To down :
There’s some potential at the kitchen of Spiceit with the fine Italian and few indian dishes standing apart from the other cluttered and less refined concoctions. the restaurant menu isn’t awful, it has one too many misses among all the hits.
