Twist of Flavours – Basil With A Twist

What Happens when Two Serbians meet ? Hence Basil with a Twist Happened .The City has almost all the cuisines now but nothing stands out as special & unique with a little twist to European cuisine, Basil with a Twist has filled that space. Right from the beginning There has been Only positives feedback for Basil with a twist which adds to the wishlist and a Must visit Category. after a  Number of failed Plans and last min drop outs which had only made my expectations and excitement high to This restaurant finally happened on my best friend Birthday ,Thank you Aasifa 😀

Location & Ambience : Located on a Busy street of Habibullah Road, was fairly easy to find and there was Ample of space for Parking. The building is all modern with glass windows and a very English Look. Coming to Ambience ,Classy i must say ! Neatly arranged Tables with wooden furnished flooring, big French windows with tied up curtains and the open Kitchen is the best part! its all works with Natural lighting .  Elegant and speaks so much about the cuisine and nothing is  overdone.

Address: 58A, Habibullah Road, Near Vidyodaya School, T Nagar, Chennai, Tamil Nadu 600017

Menu & Food :
Europe-inspired, ingredient-driven cuisine. Except, this menu also has anomalies like Middle-Eastern falafel, old-fashioned moussaka and yakitori skewers.they have cracked the small line between the exotic and the familiar.

Veg  : Roasted Pumpkin Soup Garnished With Basil & Ginger Dressing was one of the recommended dish and well presented ,Flavorful and Refreshing.
Non.Veg : Hearty Chicken Soup  It was less appealing but tasted Pretty good with chunks of chicken pieces and some Hint of Pickled Gherkins.

Melting Sensation (Veg) : Cheese balls basically, perfect texture with the right amount of ingredients .The potatoes are cooked to perfection , the corn and Mozzarella cheese blended so well that it ooze out of Hot cheese balls which was topped off with grated Parmesan .

Chipotle Chicken Quesadilla (N.Veg) :   Pieces of Tortillas stuffed with zesty chicken,Olives,Jalapenos and cooked peppers are a succulent delight .The dips are the highlight and my  favorite is spicy Pico De Gallo tomato salsa.

Main Course

Chicken & Hazelnut Pasta : As the name sounds ,it was sweet but not that over powering sweetness ,it is a contrast dish  to the normal Penne pasta. It is different and not bad at all, i love hazelnut and pasta as a dish so it was more like an experiment and worth trying.
Veg harmony : Not a Fan of Veg Pizza but this one was  Delicious ! Thin crust Pizza loaded with Veggies . Gherkins, bell peppers ,black olives  which are perfectly  seasoned . YUmmm
Grilled Chicken Breast with sauteed Veggies and Mushroom Sauce : Exciting as the name , Succulent chicken breast grilled to impeccability .The veggies Yellow bell peppers,Broccoli ,Carrots are butter grilled . the star is  Mushroom sauce which was in the right consistency and silky.Loved the whole Dish !

Banana Cake: Flaky and moist cake , A recent favorite and i underestimated with the name but  it was one of the best dessert i had in recent days. The cappuccino cream on top with the berry and the cake is simply Mind blowing taste.

MOUSSE LA CHOCOLATE : A Signature Dish and its already the best ,the dark mousse is a stunner and the white chocolate gave the balance to the dark chocolate .Roasted Almonds and Berry sauce is a killer with that  Its a Foolproof dish .
SERVICE :  Service was quick and friendly
Boiling To Down:
Basil With A Twist is a gutsy experiment and one that I hope will succeed, because restaurants like this has already made the impression and they just have to live up to it. “It not fusion. It not Italian. It not European,“It is what it is.”
