I Heart Brunch | Seasonal Tastes|The Westin | Velachery

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day but, in Most of the working City, it’s all about brunch and not only for the lazy people. In My opinion Brunch is by far the best meal of the day, at what other meal is it socially acceptable to order pancakes with bacon and a side of mac and cheese?

The five Star,  Seasonal Taste at the Westin,is not for the modest, nor those looking for a sleepy eggs-on-toast type of morning affair. Instead the lavish  Brunch buffet spread Across the entire room  and Brunch Time lasting for three hours, and features white-gloved waiters, silver cutlery, a spectacular cheese board & Make your own  Salad station, Freshly prepared sushi, Live Dosa Counter, wide Range of Cocktail & Mocktail Choice, Teriyaki Station, Pani puri or Sushi make your Choice … To name just a few things.

It was on the warmer side the day i went, so tried the refreshing Pineapple Mocktail and added to it was Liquid Nitrogen which formed Like a foam on Top of the Mocktail to give scaling with a strongly flavored  juice. It was Refreshing and Accompanied throughout my Meal.

You can help yourself to the spread of pastries, cheese, fruit, bread, and more set out along the Mocktail counter. If you’re not in the mood for all you can eat, they do also offer a full brunch menu you can order from, But I sticked To Try out some of My Favourites.

If You like to start with Cereals and Juice yes you Got the breakfast station with Piping Hot soups, Cereals, Juices and There are even Momos bcs it’s a BRunch.

Of course if you do just want eggs on toast, you’ll be pleased to find a selection of Dosa and freshly Made Chutneys to top with Mutton Kheema  or Andhra Kara Masala that is made to order, and prepared right in front of you.

On the flip side, the Jacket Potato is a unique and veggie friendly option Stuffed with Cheese and tomato from the Western Station. It had a fluffy interior and a crisp skin. It’s a bit lighter, yet still satisfying with the hearty Cheese. I also Tried Nachos with the absolute brilliant sides Pico de Gallo, Sour cream and Guacamole.

Moving on to Teriyaki live counter. There was Mushroom, Baby corn and Paneer on veg. Prawns, fish and chicken on the N.veg side. Peanut and Teriyaki as the dip is the best to go with. Make the choice and The Teriyaki will arrive at your table!

Speaking of hearty, the Grilled Turkey and Lamb served with Mashed potatoes; grilled Veggies in a cast-iron skillet with slices of Pineapple to complement the nicely seasoned Herb Marinate sauce.

Thinking between Sushi and Momos, i choose Sushi which was neatly arranged in the glass showcases 10 variety of Sushi. well Don’t regret it later 😉

It’s the slight variations that make it great and the Make your own salad got to be one of the Favourite counter,  it provides a nice and  Variety of choices for Veg and N. Vegetarians. You will go Blank seeing so many choices from sauce, dressing, Tossed or grilled Veggies, to hanging meat like in butcher shop which is a Treat already.  If you want a heartier version there’s an option to add smoked Salmon, Bacon or Ham.You can Go for the Tossed or old salad as You wish.

After Trying  a variety of Starters from The Live counters I settled with Vada pav which came on the side from the chat Corner to soak up the remains or break up the Pani Puri shots. There was Breads, Masala Chana ,pav Bhaji among the few options.

Moving on to the Main Course, There was South and North Indian on the Buffet.I picked up the The Aromatic Shrimp Dum Biryani, It was all i wanted for the day, The flavours were so good and masalas has been blended so well into the rice. Thumps up from me! For all the Thayir saadham(Curd Rice) Lovers, There are 4 types of Curd rice with different pickles in a neatly arranged jars and also vadams and Papads.

If you are Looking for Extraordinary Desserts,Then this is the PLace. This Dessert counter was set up right  in the beginning of the Entrance to the Restaurant.Loved the way how they have set the counter with neatly arranged plates with Tarts, Cakes, Fresh cut fruits, sugarless cakes, Brownies, Rasagulla,Gulab jamun to name a Few.. Oh I Forgot Macaroons!!  there was 36 desserts on the display.  I Enjoyed Tasting few treats and its totally worth it.for all the sweet tooth out there this is a Steal!

I think you’ll find the correct answer is no other meal. Whether a healthy brunch or a really dirty fry up. This spot is easily my favourite. The menu is solid, the room has a great local buzz and the staff are so friendly and make the place special. With an impressive all-you-can-eat buffet which includes both sweet and savoury treats, a cute interior and a sunny Pool facing View, it doesn’t get better than that!

‘As much as I love brunching up a storm all over town, nothing beats getting to stay in my pyjamas on a weekend morning, without having to sacrifice restaurant worthy pancakes, fry-ups and Filter Coffee. They deliver (on) it all!’
